Mary Alexandra Agner

Mary Alexandra Agner [EMAIL] writes of dead women, telescopes, and secrets in prose, poetry, and Ada.

She is a freelance writer who has worked with Argonne National Laboratory, Sky & Telescope, Muse, Escapist Magazine, Paper Droids, Under the Microscope, and other markets.

She is the author of The -OLOGISTS (Dancing Girl Press 2019), The Scientific Method (Parallel Press 2011), and The Doors of the Body (Mayapple Press 2009). Her poems have appeared in North American Review, Boxcar Poetry Review, Isotope, and other magazines. Her science fiction novelette, “O Susannah,” is available online.

She was a fellow at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts in December 2007 and received grants from the Somerville Arts Council in Literature in 2006 and 2020. She survived Thursday as part of Viable Paradise class XX.

She was born in a United State made for lovers and currently lives halfway up Spring Hill. Her advanced degrees include Earth & planetary science and creative writing.

All her life she's observed the universe and written about it.
